It is exciting to announce that the NSIHM is co-hosting this years Small Museums Conference, along with the Redlands Museum. The conference will be held over two days from August 23-24, in Cleveland and North Stradbroke Island. The conference theme is “Pathways – Connecting Museums and Communities”.
Every year, the South East Queensland Small Museums Conference offers training, professional development and networking opportunities to staff and volunteers who work in small museums.
The keynote speaker will be Professor Amareswar Galla, Executive Director of the International Institute of the Inclusive Museum. The National President of Museums Australia—Frank Howarth, will also deliver a paper.
The Moreton Bay Research Station will host the “Stradbroke Day” of the conference, and presenters will include Evelyn Parkin and Cameron Costello from QYAC, and Jo Besley from the University of Qld.
